Two Different Track Designs Running in Opposite Directions Each Night...
The 2006 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open, held inside Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena October 13-14, will feature – for the first time in history – a different track design for each of the two nights of racing.
Dirt Wurx, the official track builders of the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open, will re-sculpt the track after Friday night’s competition, giving racers and fans alike an exciting new look for Saturday night’s racing. The course will be laid out on the floor of the MGM Grand Garden Arena, featuring six unique lanes and the traditional outdoor portion of the track. The starting gate has been moved to the south end of the arena, which should foster faster starts.
“We are excited to challenge the riders with a different track for each night of racing. Not only will Saturday night’s event have a different track, it will be run in the opposite direction,” said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations, Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open. “This is an exciting enhancement for the fans as well, as it completely changes the strategy with the Toyota Trucks Trifecta on the line.”
