USSX.com Hosts Live Webcasts Throughout the Weekend at U.S. Open

AURORA, Ill. (September 15, 2005) – Clear Channel Entertainment’s Motor Sports division announced today that both nights of the eighth-annual U.S. Open, which is being billed as the most anticipated race of the season, will be webcast live on www.ussx.com from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas October 7&8 starting at 7:30 p.m. PST. In addition to the live race coverage, the pre and post-race press conferences will be webcast live as well.

In a similar format to the widely popular Supercross LIVE!, host Jim Holley, a former world supercross champion, along side a soon-to-be-announced special guest, will call the race action for both nights of event. The ultra-hyped showdown will feature, for the first-time ever, Florida rivals Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart racing for $100,000 inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena. At the conclusion of each night’s race, fans can tune in to the exclusive post-race press conference and get an inside perspective to what took place during the race. Throughout the weekend several VIPs will sit in on the race call and fans will be able to do live call-ins for a chance to win official merchandise.

On Thursday, October 6, from Noon-2:00 p.m., the pre-race press conference, featuring 13-time AMA national title winner Ricky Carmichael and two-time regional 125cc AMA Supercross Series champ James Stewart, will be webcast live on www.ussx.com to preview the weekend’s activities. Carmichael, who has two U.S. Open championships under his belt, recently capped off his sixth-consecutive 250cc AMA Motocross Championship. Stewart, who raced a limited 250cc supercross season in 2005, makes his U.S. Open debut this season.

“We are happy to once again offer fans from around the world complete access to this high-profile race – LIVE – on www.ussx.com, the official website of the U.S. Open,” said Linda Ardehali, director of new media, Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports. “Our revamped website www.ussx.com, is the hub for all information pertaining to the U.S. Open. Throughout the race weekend the LIVE broadcasts and press conferences will give fans comprehensive coverage from the event.”

Carmichael and Stewart will be on hand to answer questions from the media followed by a private, media-only riding session. To reserve a spot for the press conference and the event, please send media requests to dennyhartwig@clearchannel.com.

The eighth-annual U.S. Open, which will be broadcast nationally on NBC October 23 at 3:30 EST for the second consecutive season, features the world’s top motocross racers competing for the world’s largest single race purse. Four-time supercross champion and two-time U.S. Open champion Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki), two-time defending U.S. Open champion Chad Reed (Yamaha), two-time 125cc regional supercross champion James Stewart (Kawasaki) and former 125 Western Regional AMA Supercross Series champion Kevin Windham (Honda) are confirmed to race.
