What The Riders Have To Say:
"It has been a number of years, and we are both a little older. He said let’s not kill each other; we are getting older. I was like @#$! you, Damon. When the helmet goes on, we can throw everything out of the window. The last time we raced in Las Vegas, he cleaned my clock."

"There was always talk about who was faster, the east coast or the west coast, which added to the hype. We never raced until the tail end of our amateur days. I do not know why I don’t like him. I just don’t. Maybe it’s because he is from California and I am from North Carolina. For some reason, we found one another on the track. It ballooned from there."

What Industry Insiders Say:
"I hope there's enough prize money left over to bail these two guys out of jail because you might need it! The Chicken and the Beast is one of those rivalries that lasts forever."
--Davey Coombs Racer X
"I was in Sam Boyd Stadium that night in 1992 and sitting in a section near where Damon launched his bike at the Chicken. I was also in the same stadium for the first supercross ever run in Las Vegas. It was on March 17, 1990 and Chicken won his first and only supercross that night. (A young kid on a Team Green KX125 also won his first supercross that same evening. I think his name was Jeremy McGrath). It’s good to see the two old boys — over 15 years later — back in Vegas and ready to start throwing haymakers at one another’s heads. Chicken has a sucker punch and a win on the Beast, so it could be time for The Big Payback in Sin City. The entire town is built on a bedrock of bad decisions, bad judgment and ALWAYS doing the WRONG thing, so we could be in luck! Ha! "
--Eric Johnson/Senior Contributor/Racer X
"This rematch is one everybody's been waiting for! I'm as excited for this race as the real one! This is no hype; these two guys do not like each other. It should be a slam-fest in Vegas! "
--Steve Matthes, Reporter, Racer X
"Its' pretty tough for these guys to go out and risk so much on a tough track like the US Open. Especially risking their egos."
--Jimmy Lewis, Editor, Dirt Rider Magazine
"When I initially heard that they were having a legends rematch race, the first two riders I thought of were Matiasevich and Bradshaw. This race had to happen and should be one for the ages."
--David Izer, host, DMXS Radio
"My reason for going to Vegas - to find the answer to the age old question of who's faster, the Chicken or the Egg that hatched the Beast from the East."
--John Clark, President, Hammerhead Designs, Inc
"That 'beast of the east' will ruffle some feathers with that chicken. KFC in Vegas so to speak. "
--Frank Hoppen, Hoppenworld.com
"You just couldn't make up a drama this good! Head to head and bar to bar, the world will be watching..."
--Sean Goulart, Editor, www.MXNewsfeed.com
"Just the thought of these 2 guys going at it makes me wish I had a mullet "
--Danny Dobey, One Industries
"There's likely to be as much action off the track as on it when these two meet back up again at the U.S. Open. "
--Steve Cox, Editor at Large, Racer X Magazine
